“My artwork celebrates 35 years of Santa Clarita Transit by turning the milestone itself into a vehicle of movement. The number “35” becomes a bold, bus-like form traveling through a stylized Santa Clarita landscape, connecting hills, neighborhoods, roads and local landmarks. The bright colors, motion lines and 1991-2026 dates honor the past, present and future of transit’s role in moving people through our city and bringing the community together.”
Congratulations to David Foglesong, whose artwork was selected as the winning design for the 35th Anniversary TAP Card Art Contest!
His design will be featured on 1,000 limited-edition commemorative TAP cards, produced in partnership with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), which administers the TAP system and Commemorative TAP Card program.

Take a look back at the winning art from the Santa Clarita Transit 2025 TAP Card Art Contest!
Chosen from a talented pool of 84 submissions, Joey Camins created a stunning hand-drawn piece that captures a Santa Clarita Transit vehicle traveling gracefully through a lush green landscape. The artwork reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainability and showcases how our new zero-emission vehicles help protect our environment.
The 2025 TAP Card Artwork competition focused on the following theme:
Zero-Emission Initiative:
The City of Santa Clarita is making major strides toward a cleaner, more sustainable future. In 2025, we’re rolling out new zero-emission initiatives to help reduce our carbon footprint, improve local air quality, and provide reliable transit options for our community. Zero emissions means absolutely zero harmful pollutants are emitted into the air from our transit vehicles. This translates to a healthier environment, improved air quality, and supports better public health.
