Transportation Development Plan

We’re planning for the future and improving transit in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Welcome! Thank you for visiting Santa Clarita Transit’s 2024 Transportation Development Plan (TDP) webpage. We are excited to share the Draft Plan service concepts with you and receive your feedback.

What is a Transportation Development Plan?

The TDP seeks to address the public mobility needs of the growing Santa Clarita Valley community, both now and across the next 10 years. This Plan is an update to the last TDP completed in 2019. Since that time, Santa Clarita has continued to grow and change, and some travel patterns have shifted following the COVID-19 pandemic.

This Plan will guide public mobility investment over the next 10 years to ensure that newly-developed and changing areas of Santa Clarita are served effectively by transit and that future operating and capital investments utilize available funding efficiently and responsibly.

We collected input from current riders, community members, stakeholders and bus operators in fall 2023 and early 2024. We also analyzed our current transit network, local travel demand and patterns, demographics and key destinations to better understand your mobility needs and how we can meet them. Your valuable input and these findings have helped inform the Draft Plan service concepts that we are presenting now. We are continuing to gather more feedback on the Draft Plan, which we will then incorporate into the Final Plan later this summer.

Click here to visit the Draft TDP website with more info on the project, maps and details on the draft concepts and a brief survey about the Plan. Please share your feedback and help to ensure the Final TDP reflects the community’s mobility needs.

How can I get involved?

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback in the first phase of the project. We are hosting public events in spring 2024 to share our draft service concepts with the community and kick off the draft TDP public feedback process. Follow this page and Santa Clarita Transit’s social media pages for more information.

What is the project schedule?

The TDP process began in August 2023, and will continue through summer 2024. The project is organized into three phases: collecting input and conducting our analyses, developing a Draft Plan and sharing it with the community and finalizing the Plan.

We are now presenting the Draft Plan concepts for public review and comment. The Draft Plan will be refined and updated based on your feedback, and present the Final Plan later this summer. We will share more information and hold a public meeting when the Final Plan is completed.
